<p>Enlisted in the military in Los Angeles, California. in 1941.Served in the Army for several years.</p> <p> </p> <p>Nevada State Journal states at the intersection of Virginia and First Streets, John Richard Tinnes jumped to his death. That was the construction site of the Mapes Hotel. He had been a resident of Reno since late October. He registered as a shill at the Frontier Club on Oct. 8, 1947 and also signed up as a cabbie at this time.</p> <p> </p> <p>Coroner George E. Kitzmeyer was the coroner at the time</p> <p> </p> <p>Nevada State Journal on 2-15-1947 had a small article:</p> <p>Tinnes rites held Friday at 10am at the Ross-Burke Chapel. The Rev.
