Father of Mills Drury Taylor. Now there is a conflict on Ancestory.com where as John T, was born in Ohio. None of his siblings were. His mother Nancy Sweeten Taylor is Buried in TN his father is buried in Natchez MS. His father died as a result of the Battle of New Orleans while on their way back.

There is no stone for John T. born 1808 in the AB Union Cemetery his son is there. He was memorialized there for continuity. It is believed he is in a cemetery near there on the County line but the name of that cemetery is not known.

State of Tennessee, Franklin Co. this day personally appeared before m. John Jones, Justice of the Peace for said County, John Sweeten and William Sweeten - made oath in due form - Deposed and Saith that they both stood present and saw Nancy Taylor married to John Taylor deceased said Nancy Taylor living in Smith County - Sworn and Subscribed to this 22nd day of August, 1816 - John Sweeten (his signature) William L Sweeten (his signature)

John and Nancy Sweeten Taylor had five children: Marget C Taylor, b. March 28, 1803; Edward Taylor, b. November 8, 1806; John T Taylor, b. December 7, 1808; Nancy Taylor, b. January 16, 1811; Joseph C Taylor, b. August 1, 1813.

John T. Taylor was in Dallas County, MO in 1850 and died there after 1873. We know next to nothing about the rest of them. Is Joseph C Taylor the same one who was in Hardeman County, TN in 1840 thru 1860? A Dutton Sweeten and a Jarvis Sweeten were there. Would appreciate any additional info at all about any of these.
