Minnie B. Higgins Death Notice

There has been much sickness and several deaths recently

Mrs. John Parker was buried at Mount Pleasant 1/28/1898

(Benton County Democrat 1/30/1898)

• Dora Belle Parker died at the age of 105 years.

She was 6 years old when her mother died. Her father

was from all accounts a very difficult man to get along

with. Dora ran away from home when she was 18 and

when she came back home her father told her that he was

going to work and when he came home for lunch for her

not to be there. She came to Oklahoma where she had

relatives and then it is believed that she went to Texas

where her uncle, Daniel E. Parker (brother to her dad) lived

and when Daniel and his wife got a divorce she moved

to Colorado with Daniel. In Colorado she had her son

Carl. She then married Gus Petersen and had another son

Eugene. Everyone that knew her said that she was a kind, loving

and gentle woman
