The will of Cornelius Krusen June 25, 1782 mentions 26 acres where John Stillwell lives which was part of the patent granted to John Vincent. Calender of Col. NY Manuscripts Indorsed Land Records, descriptionof a survey of 88 acres of land, laying upon the north side of Staten Island, laid out for John Vincent by Phillip Wells surveyor on 21-Dec-1680. John Vincent and Susannah Blaise were naturalized on 14-Oct-1681 at England

This information is taken from "Our Family of Vincents" on loan from the Boston Library. John (Jean) Vincent married Susanne Nuquerque C1672-75. He will was proved 9-04-1705. This is an excerpt from the book. "On 1-26-1698-9, John Vincent, merchant, then in good health, makes his will giving his property to his wife, Susanna....(page 41)" On December 12th his widow Susanna, and Levi, eldest son and heir of said John,sell.....proves Levi to be the eldest son of Jean Vincent. It say eldest son, which means to me that he had another son. He did have a son Jean born 1682 who died at the age of eight on 8-04-1690. Note that John's will was proved 9-04-1705. This means to me that he was speaking of another son. I believe it to be William born c1694-05.
I will list the children in the book of "Our Family of Vincents: Levi born 4-10-1676, Madelaine (Marie Madelaine), Jean 1682-1690, Susanne born 5-30-1690, Elizabeth born 1693, Marie Anne born 10-06-1696. Where is the son that John (Jean) included in his will in 1795, certainly not Jean who died in 1690. Now I go forward to the will of Christopher Kirkley, Charles County, Md. 7th July, 1709. To grandson William Vincent and hrs; son of John and Susannah Vinson, 2/3 of estate, real and personal. "present wife Elizabeth; residue of estate, real and personal; to descend at her decease to grandson William. The women in the family were sometimes left out of the will because it was expected that the husband would provide for them. Since Levi was already provided for, Christopher Kirkley left it to his only remaining grandson, William. I believe this to be the same John & Susannah Kirkley/Nuquerque. I do have a problem which is this: John was the executor and his will was proved 9-04-1705. He was the executor of the will of Christopher Kirkley of Charles County Maryland. It has two dates 10th Sept, 1708 and 7th July, 1709. Unless we actually see the wills there is no way to prove if an error is made. I do feel that there is a son missing from the John and Susanne Nuquerque family and he was probably born around 1694 which fits well for William Vincent who was born c1755 in Maryland and whose family history written many years ago claim he was a descendant of French Huguenots. I also have the information from my grandmother who always talked about Strong Vincent as being related to her. I would appreciate any help you can give me in resolving who this John and Susanna Kirklley are. Thanks so much. Sincerely Louise
