- Lewis Hatch, Gent. was born circa 1521 at Aulers, Devonshire, England; Age 33 in 1554.1 He married Elizabeth Fortescue, daughter of Bartholomew Fortescue and Ellen Moore, circa 1555; They had 4 sons (Thomas; John; Lewis; & Edmund) & 3 daughters (Dorothy, wife of Humphrey Cruwys; Anne, wife of Edmund Reynell; & Jane, wife of John Walrond).1 Lewis Hatch, Gent. left a will on 7 November 1560.1 He died on 10 February 1561 at Aulers, Devonshire, England.1

Thomas (barrister at law,) married and had issue Lewis, Robert of Saterleigh, John of Tree in the parish of Swymbridge, Ellen, (married to Humphrey Arscot, of Dunsland, esq.;) Dorothy, (to Thomas Trevillian, of Yarnscomb, esq.) Lewis married and had issue Thomas ; John of Langford, cousellor-at-law ; Lewis of Head-Mill ; Dorothy, (married to Humphrey Cruwys, of Cruwys-Morchard, esq.;) —— , (to Edmund Reynell, of Malston, esq.;) —— , (to Walrond, of Bovey, esq.) Thomas married Elizabeth, daughter of Sir John Chichester, of Ralegh, knight, and had issue Arthur, afterwards slain in a quarrel in London by one Brett. Arthur married Margaret, daughter of Mallet, of Elm in Somerset, esq., and hath issue Thomas and Hugh. He died June 1625. _____________
