The Chandler Publicist. (Chandler, Okla. Terr.), Friday, March 16, 1906
J. C. Welch and son Richard of Sparks were here last evening enroute to Ochelita, I. T., a telegram received by them yesterday morning having brought the sad news of the death of the youngest son John who had been killed in an accident at one of the oil wells at that place. The boy was only twenty years old but has been getting $4.00 per day for a long time as engineer on a drill rig in the oil field north of Tulsa.
