About John Wolstenholme
John did not adapt well when his mother died and suffered from a breakdown. The law would not allow him to stay with his unmarried sisters so he was sent to Prestwich Asylum. Even after the law changed he remained at the asylum as it was thought he would be unable to cope outside the institution, so he remained there until his death
