Birth: 5 DEC 1759 Halifax County, Virginia. Death: Unknown for now as to place and yr/mo/dy.

Richard Wright, Sr. and Ann, along with Benjamin, their oldest son, left Maryland in late 1753 and arrived in southwestern Virginia in February 1754, just in time for Peter’s birth. Records indicate that Richard acquired property there. There is credible evidence for the basis John would have been b. in southwestern [Halifax County] VA. The first indication of Richard, Sr. in NC was not until 4 May 1762–in Orange County, NC. Doc is the VERY FIRST 700 acres acquired by RW, Sr. Predates PARR/WRIGHT deed. See GALLERY for doc.
