(Research) KINSHIP: Investigate> Buckley's 'Genealogies of the Carmarthenshire Sheriffs from 1539-1913' pages 3 and 6 make him the son of Elizabeth daughter of Francis son of Philip, Duke of Burgundy.

(Research) KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Evan's 'British Genealogist' book 1 page 86 inserts an extra generation between John and Thomas called Thomas, then states "this is wrong".

(Research) MARRIAGE: Conflict/Error> Evan's 'British Genealogist' book 2 page B121 gives him as wife his brother John's wife Jonet ferch Thomas. ◦(Research):KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Rowland's 'Pedigree of the Ancient Family of Dolau Cothi' page 14 gives him a son named William from whom Sir James Williams of Pant Hywel descended, but this William is the son of another son of Thomas ap Gruffudd named John by a different wife.

KINSHIP: Conflict/Error> Rowland's 'Pedigree of the Ancient Family of Dolau Cothi' page 13 states "a son by his second wife Elizabeth a dr. of John the Bold, Duke of Burgundy and Earl of Flanders".
