Jona Egli Taken By Death

Wayland - Jona Egli, 72, of near Trenton, died shortly before noon Friday at Memorial hospital in Mt. Pleasant, where he had been taken the night before.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, at the United Missionary church at Trenton. Rev. Walter Stump will officate. The body will remain at the Zehr Funeral home until time for the services.

The son of Jacob and Barbara Roth Egli was born near Trenton Feb. 20, 1885. He spent his entire life in the same community. He was married to Elsie Lane. She and four children survive. They are: Edwin Egli, Trenton, Mrs. Esther Griffith, St. Louis, Mrs. Dorothy Powell, Iowa City, and Mrs. Lois Titus, Sigourney. Also surviving are seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
