In 1829 Jonas bought land on a hill called Hill Farm and all his children were born there. In 1852 Jonas and Delia moved down to the Herkimer place which Jonas had bought. Jonas lived there until the house burned down on Monday, 28 November 1892. Jonas is listed as head of household in the 1880 census, living with his wife Delia in Exeter, Otsego, NY. Also in the household: his daughter Mary and a farm laborer named Jas. Mulligan from Ireland. Mary is listed under her married name, Hull, but isn't a widow. (Geoff Bronner)
