About Jonathan George Jarman
GEDCOM Note
The family lived in Crows Nest, Sydney. George usually worked in the country coming home from time to time to visit and give his wife some money - normally once a year. Mary's father had a business at Parkes and used to visit his daugher Mary and on leaving, Mary would find a handful of soverigns in the sewing machine drawer which was very much needed. Although it was very difficult for Mary, she always paid her debts. The children found work early, the girls working mainly with sewing jobs in factories. Geoge eventually stopped coming home - it was believed he had found another woman. It is believed that George Jarman once owned the property in Oxford Street, Sydney which afterwards had Wynns Department Store on it. Audrey thinks the property was lost when George went to the country for his bronchitis, but failed to pay rates (or monies) on the property and so it was sold.
