About Joost Duryea
http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/lccn/sn83030272/1903-01-04/ed-1/s... Joost Duryea built the family homestead in 1681. The homestead remained in the family for over 200 years. It was torn down in 1903 to make room for improvements by the Pennsylvania Railroad. This article in the Jan. 4, 1903 edition of the New York Sun pictures the house and discusses the Duryeas.
