Born in Sumpter County Georgia. Died in Henry County Alabama Son of Vincy Martin and Lemuel M. Hodges. Married Molly Cannedy. [Source: Greg Hodges, Richmond Virginia]. NOTE: The Henry Hodges reported to have been a son of Lemuel Hodges, Jr. and Viney Martin was actually, a brother of Lemuel Hodges, Jr. and was born in Pitt County, North Carolina. The Henry Hodges, a son of Lemuel and Viney Hodges was apparently too young to serve in the CSA as did his other brother's and I have never found any data to suggest that he did serve with them? Now, there was a young Henry Hodges who died 28 May 1863 and is buried next to Lemuel and Viney Hodges in Tolbert Cemetery; consequently, I have always considered this Henry to have been the son of Lemuel and Viney Hodges? Henry Hodges, brother to Lemuel Hodges, Jr. actually recorded his Will there in Henry County dated May 4, 1864, and named his entire family in full detail. This Henry was born circa 1802 in Pitt County, North Carolina. The younger Henry Hodges, son of Lemuel Hodges, Jr., who was buried in Tolbert Cemetery was born circa 1847 in Sumter County, Georgia.
