ROMERO, Jose Erineo, 94 - A longtime resident of Cuyamungue, passed away Wednesday evening after a long illness. He was born in Cuyamungue on March 2, 1892 and was the son of the late Manuelita Quintana and Antonio Romero.

He was preceded in death by

• his wife Eursinia Romero and also by
• a sister, Erancesquita Lujan in April 1985.

He is survived by

• one daughter, Helen Lujan and husband Phillip of Cuyamungue;
• five sons:
  • Juan G. Romero and wife Liza,
  • Edward Romero and friend Annie and
  • Manuel Romero and wife Erma, all of Santa Fe,
  • Lawrence Romero and wife Cordy of Espanola and
  • Jim Romero and wife Lorraine of Cuyamungue;
• four sisters-in-iaw:
  • Cordilia Romero of Espanola
  • Stella Gonzales of Tesuque,
  • Macaria Trujillo of Jacona and
  • Margarita Lopez and husband Prax of Albuquerque,
• one brother-in-law, Luis Ortiz of Santa Fe,
• 19 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren;
• a nephew very close and dear to him, Adenois Lujan from Jacona
• many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Visiting hours will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. today at Berardinelli Mortuary. Mr. Romero will be taken to Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe del Valle de Pojoaque at 6:00 p.m. where a parish rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. at Guadalupe Church in Pojoaque with interment to follow In the Pojoaque Cemetery.
