Jose Inacio Rombeiro

The very first Rombeiro who started it all was our great great great grandfather Jose Rombeiro born in 1840 and died in 1870,and he came from Flanders, Belgium and traveled through the Atlantic ocean to an unknown and unfamiliar islands by the name of Azores.

Although Jose was unaccustomed to Azores and the people that spoke portuguese, he remained in Sao miguel and fell in love and married a girl from a nearby village. Also his last name was spelled Romber, He changed his last name to sound more Portuguese so the last name Rombeiro was Born!

They had 1 son. His son married and one of their sons was our grandpa's dad, His name was Jose Inacio Rombeiro (grandpa is named after him)born on jan 15 1890 and died in 1964, he married Rosalina Viveiros born on 1893 and died in 1928 when our vovo was only 8 years old.Anyways Jose and Rosalina had 4 sons Edmundo (he had an accident from falling off the roof and died he was only 16) Jose ( our vovo), Henrique and Eduardo. Our vovo's dad remarried to a Maria da Graca Moniz and they had 4 more children Humberto,Rosalina,Fernando, and Edmundo.

All of our grandpa's brothers and sister moved to Califorina.Out of them only Eduardo, Rosalina and Edmundo are left. And of course all of them got married and had kids and their kids had kids.

and they had 10 children....Alvaro,Joao 'John', Marjorie, Jose Maria, Irene, Eduardo, Emanuel, Elenora, Antonio(died a few months old), and my mom Maria. Which I'm sure we all know. And they all got married and had children...all our first cousins.

And of course all of our cousins are getting married and having children, so the Rombeiro name continues.
