Your gg-uncle (Josef Poras) is first mentioned in 1863 as Kadett (officer-cadet). Obviously he had a better school-education and wanted to start a miltary-career and he had probably a prosperous father. 1864 he was Unterlieutnant 2. class 1865 Unterlieutnant 1. class In the war 1866 he was wounded by Wysokov (Nachod). In 1867 he is Oberlieutnant (as you mentioned) until 1877. In 1878 he is Hauptmann (captain) from the 2. company and is involved in the occupatin of Bosnia where he was killed in action near Bandin (Odziak). On 22. September 1878 he was buried together with his dead comrades in a deep grave near Sarajevo.
