Joseph and Elizabeth Bills filed their intention to marry in Dorchester, Massachusetts Bay, on May 10, 1705. They settled in Roxbury and raised their family. It should be noted that Elizabeth Bills may have been Joseph's 2nd marriage, his first possibly being to Mary Dickinson (m. 1996, Rowley). Elizabeth and Joseph had at least seven children including Phebe b. 1706, Elizabeth b. 1707, Hannah b. 1709, Mary b. 1712, Thankfull b. 1715, Ebenezer b. 1721, and Joseph b. 1724.

Joseph passed away in Dorchester on November 28, 1732.
