By the will of Joseph's father, entered in Westerly, Feb 22, 1741-2, he was to receive after the death of his mother, the negro man Primus. Joseph was appointed administrator for the estate of his mother, July 27, 1747. Oct., 1733, Joseph Babcock, Jr. of Westerly, was made a freeman by the General Court of Rhode Island.
