Not this man:

Colonel Joseph Bell married Mary Corbet in VA, and later moved their family to Carteret County, NC in 1736, Joseph served in the NC State Assembly from 1747 to 1760, and again in 1764-65, being made a colonel during this period. Joseph and his wife Mary, were large landowners around Beaufort, NC., and lived on a large plantation near what is now know as Morehead City, NC. He gave the land on Newport River for building a Methodist Church which was known as Bells Chapel.
