About Joseph Chandler
History: Knapp states-- Joseph Chandler, Senior born circa 1757, died 5 May 1817, age 60 in Perry Township, Ashland County, Ohio. He was a member of the Society of Friends and the Indians liked to talk with him about William Pen whom they referred to as "that good man." He cam to Ohio in 1809/1810 and to Perry Township, Wayne County (now Ashland). He died on the farm he and his sons had cleared. He was survived by: his widow (who died 1852), six sons and four daughters: Thomas, Robert R., Joseph, Jr., Shadrac, Jacob and John; Rebecca, Eleanor, Henrietta and Alice.
