Biography

Joseph Crippen was born 7 June 1726, Colchester, Ct. Tabitha Rowley, born 20 Oct 1724. Marriage: Kent, Ct, 7 May, 1747. Tabitha Rowley Crippen, dau Jabez & Tabitha (Harris) Rowley, [a descendant of Pilgrim Edward Fuller], died North Granville, Washington County, N. Y. 10 Nov 1811. Tabitha buried at Truthville Baptist Church cemetery, Granville, Washington County. Joseph Crippen owned a farm on the N Y-Mass border in present day Columbia County (NY) and Berkshire County, MS. A portion of the farm was in each state following the Border War after the Revolution. I believe Joseph is buried in an inaccessible Massachusetts cemetery in that portion which lies in Columbia County, NY. Joseph was also a descendant of Pilgrim Edward Fuller.

Joseph Crippen was born 7 June 1726, in Colchester, Connecticut. Joseph is a descendant of Pilgrim Edward Fuller.

Joseph married Tabitha Rowley in Kent, Connecticut, 7 May, 1747. Tabitha was born 20 October 1724.

Tabitha (Rowley) Crippen was the daughter of Jabez & Tabitha (Harris) Rowley, a descendant of Pilgrim Edward Fuller.

The children of Joseph and Tabitha (Rowley) Crippen were:[1]

Tabitha, born 21 December 1749; married Ezra Crippen. Hosea Crippen, born about 1750 (uncertain).
Joseph Crippen, born 23 November 1753, Sharon, Connecticut.
Lucinda Crippen, born 3 Sep 1759, Sharon, Connecticut.
Alpheus Crippen, born 1760, Sharon, Connecticut.

Joseph died 8 Apr 1799 in Hillsdale, Columbia County, New York. It is believed that Joseph is buried in an inaccessible Massachusetts cemetery in that portion which lies in Columbia County, New York.

Tabitha Crippen died in North Granville, Washington County, New York, on 10 Nov 1811. Tabitha was buried at Truthville Baptist Church cemetery, Granville, Washington County, New York.
