Death notice from 'The Northfield News for Northfield, Vermont, July 2, 1912, p. 1: "Joseph K. Egerton...Born...in 1828, the youngest of a family of eight children. During his early boyhood his parents went to live in Quechee, but upon the death of his father in 1859 he went to Norwich where he lived for 15 years. In 1856 he married Sarah v. Tyler of Claremont, N.H., and in 1877...they removed to Northfield, where he has since resided... He was a merfchant by trade and successfully carried on business for many years...Mr. Egerton has had many town offices conferred upon him which he has filled with credit to himself...He was...for many years chief supporter of St. Mary's Episcopal Church...
