"... Death Calls Survivor of Good Ship Brooklyn. Marysville - March 20 - Joseph S. Glover, who as a child of two years was on the good ship Brooklyn when it rounded the Horn in 1846, died here March 9. As a child also he was a Utah pioneer in 1847 and had all his life braved trials and hardships with the dauntless spirit that was part of his nature.Mr. Glover was born July 8, 1844 in Pennsylvania. In 1867 he married Ellen M. Rice. He helped settle Cache Valley in early days and nine years ago he came here to live. He is survived by eight children as follows: Joseph H., Orval, Delilah, Mrs. Hodges, Mrs. N. Thompson, Mrs. C. O. Cherry, Mrs. Sadie Pernell, Mrs. D. E. Doris. Two sisters were also on the Brooklyn , Mrs. Katherine Rigby and Mrs. Jane Rigby..."
