Grave & Obit: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/7899309/joseph-jacob-jirik OBITUARY Joseph Jacob Jirik, retired Webster area farmer, died early in the morning on May 27, after a brief hospitalization at Methodist Hospital, St. Louis Park.
A native of Wheatland twp., Mr. Jirik was born December 13, 1891 to Jacob and Anna (Sevcik) Jirik. He attended District 67 schools and lived in Webster twp. for many years, serving as Webster twp. assesser for 22 years. He was also a member of the Catholic Workman fraternal organization serving as president of the Lonsdale branch for several years. He retired from the farm in 1958, and resided in Lonsdale until his final illness.
Mr. Jirik was married to the former Anna Marek. The couple were married at Lonsdale on May 25, 1915.
Mr. Jirik is survived by his wife, Anna, and by his children ---Mrs. Jos. B. (Helen) Smisek, Sister Emeria (Mary), Mrs. Val (Rose) Skluzacek, Sister Paulissa (Loretta), Sister Rita, and Joseph Jr., Frank, George, Raymond and John Jirik - - 31 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. . Also surviving is a brother, John J. Jirik. Two brothers, Thomas and Frank, preceded the deceased in death.
Visitation was held at the Lonsdale Funeral Chapel. Mass of the Resurrection was offered on May 29 at 11:30 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Lonsdale, with ten clergymen officiating: Rev. Gerald Schunk, Rev. Charles Jirik, Rev. Richard Skluzacek, Rev. Edward Chmielewski, Rev. Richard Podvin, Rev. Gerald Frier, Rev. Gerald Keefe, Rev. Alton Scheid, Rev. Bernard Reiser and Rev. Robert Dobihal.
Pallbearers at the funeral were Jerry Jirik, Donald Smisek, Steve Skluzacek, and Robert Jirik, of Lonsdale; and Paul Jirik and David Jirik of Webster. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Lonsdale.
