• NOTE: Joseph was the biological son of Joseph Barker Fleming. However, after his mother Frankie married Clark Ashby, it seems that Joseph was either adopted by Clark (and therefore took Ashby as his surname) or for other reasons Joseph discontinued using Fleming as his surname and instead took Ashby as his surname. Joseph's son Claude William used Ashby as his surname, as did Claude's two siblings.
