The story goes that he once had a minor car accident in Barbados. As the policeman was taking down his particulars - Joseph Farmer - along came a friend who asked, "John everything alright?" and almost at the same time one of the nieces or nephews came along saying "Uncle Dick are you OK?" at which point the PC was heard to demand "Sir, what is your name?"
