My Dad He's been the grandest father Any girl ever had And when he gets to heaven The Angels will be glad; There'll be such great rejoicing Among the heavenly ones, His mother and his father, and two of his sons.

We'll miss him here however His laugh and warm hand shake, And all the many little thing He'd do just for our sake Whenever anything went wrong We could depend on Dad He'd fix it up someway, so no one would be sad.

He's spanked us and he's loved us And given good advice And he's always had our respect For an exemplary life. He was a good church worker He was always loving, just, And the confidence given him were kept in faithful trust.

And in that peaceful heaven Where he'll find no more pain, He'll be happy there, Dear Mother, And relief long sought he'll gain. When he makes his own report to the Great and Might One God will shake his hand I'm sure for a work well done.

By his daughter, Alta McCombs
