Joseph Lewis
Joseph Lewis of Los Angeles
Admitted to practice law in California: May 9, 1933
Public disciplinary history: None
CANDIDATE'S STATEMENT:
I was admitted to practice law in California in 1933; New York in 1985. I received a J.D. Degree from Southwestern Law School with special recognition in legal research. I did my undergraduate studies at Washington and Lee University and the University of Southern California. I served for over twenty-five years as a member of the National Panel of the American Arbitration Association as a volunteer arbitrator. I've been a member of the American Judicature Society for over twenty-five years and past member of the Los Angeles Lawyer's Club, Los Angeles County Bar Association, American Bar Association and the New York City Bar Association.
As a sole practitioner, I enjoy volunteering by giving legal advice and support to disabled and financially troubled persons. I also volunteer as a tutor to young law students and assist attorneys in various legal cases. I strongly support attorneys volunteering in the community as Teachers, Arbitrators, Mediators and Providers of legal services to disabled persons and to financially needy persons. I authored The Epic Plan, To End Poverty In Civilization; it guarantees saving the government one billion dollars a day or over $360 billion dollars a year and it presents economic shock therapy to end war and terrorism.
My legal experience as a sole practitioner, being a long-standing partner in a Law Firm with my late partner Frank J. Waters, and having a daughter as an Assistant City Attorney, has contributed to my understanding of issues of concern to the California State Bar Membership.
