Joseph and Mary were married at St. Anne Church, Detroit, MI. They resided in Springwells. When Joseph was 20 years old he received from Archange Lorrain, his mother, a quit claim to 20 acres of Private Claim 26, lying south of Central Railroad in Springwells. In 1856 Elizabeth Kirk received from Joseph Lorrain a quit claim to 15 acres on the northside of Chicago Road in Springwells. When Joseph was 30 years old he purchased form John Chequin of Huron Twp. the east half of SW 1/4 Sec 28, Twp 4 South Range 9 East containing 80 acres subject to a mortgage of $200.00 and interest payable to Wm Powell of Detroit.
Joseph Lorrain died in 1902 and buried at St. Patrick Cemetary in Carleton, MI.
