About Joseph Pacovsky
Killed in Round House
Man well known killed at Albert Lea
Joseph Pacovsky, referred to in the following item from the Albert Lea Tribune, Is well known here and his many friends will mourn to hear of his death. A lamentable and shocking accident occurred in the round house of the Union yards shortly before 6 o'clock Thursday morning, in which Joseph Pacovsky was killed, and M. Jorgenson injured, while the men were opening two of the large doors in the round house to let an engine pass out.
The engine started before the doors were open and the men were pinned between the tender of the engine and the heavy round house doors. When they were released Pacovsky dropped unconscious to the ground. Jorgenson was somewhat bruised about the body, the only serious injury which he sustained, was a broken collar bone and he will soon be able to be about again.
Examination of the body of that unfortunate Pacovsky showed no marks or bruises except some slight ones on his right arm. It is thought that the sudden pressure ruptured some internal organs. Joseph Pacovsky was about 24 years old, and has been employed at the round house for a month and a half. He came here from the home of his parents, Mr and Mrs Pacovsky, near Glenville and wanted to learn railroading. He as a bright and promising young man whose untimely death is regretted by all. The remains will be taken to Glenville for burial.
