Joseph William Petite - 80
Joseph William Petite. 80, of Tobin I Avenue, North Sydney, died peacefully Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2001, at his home.
Born in North Sydney, he was a son of the late Joseph Samuel and Gertrude (Murray) Petite.
Joe was a bricklayer by trade working with the Sydney Steel Corp. for a number of years. He also operated Petite's Dairy until his retirement.
He was a veteran of the Second World War serving overseas with the Cape Breton L Highlanders.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church and the Royal Canadia Legion, Branch No. 19, North Sydney.
He n was a former president and very active member of the North Sydney Little s League in his earlier years.
Surviving are his daughter, Ann I Marie (Jack) MacDonald, Charlottetown, P.E.l.; three sons, Joseph (Norma), North Sydney, Steve (Brenda), Florence, and Greg (Nancy), at home; six grandchildren, Norman, Shane, Brendan, Stephanie, Steven and Kimberley; two sisters, Mabel (Tom) Sainthill, North Sydney, and Ruth (Roy) Demerling, Florida.
He was predeceased by his wife, Mabel McCarthy, brothers, Victor, Jack and Walter; sister, Annie Hartigan.
