Joseph Stencil Is Summoned By Death
Deceased Passed Away After Illness Of Only One Week
Joseph Stencil died at his home on Sunday, December 27, at one o'clock P. M. following an illness of only one week's duration. His death was caused by influenza and complications.
The deceased was born in Germany on March 18, 1872, and was sixty-four years old at the time of his death. Coming to this country in 1880, he settled with his parents at Minnesota Lake where he lived until 1906 when he moved on a farm near Janesville where he remained until 1930 when he moved to town.
On October 16, 1906, he was joined in marriage with Miss Mary Poziemba of Minnesota Lake where the ceremony was performed. He is survived by his widow and four sons, Louis, on a farm near Janesville and John, Frank and Elmer at home. The deceased is also survived by one brother, Vincent Stencil of Minnesota Lake and a sister, Mrs. Marta Allis of Wells.
The funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 8:30 o'clock from the Arnoldt Funeral Home and at nine o'clock at St. Ann's Catholic Church with Father Parkinson in charge of the services. The pallbearers were James Eustice, Charles Fanning, Charles Ryan and Thomas Lynch. Interment took place in St. Ann's cemetery. Among those from out of town who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. Marta Allis of Wells and Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Stencil of Minnesota Lake.
