OSEPH VOELKER
Death claimed Joseph Voelker, one of the highly respected residents of St. Anna, on Monday morning at 10:30, after two years' illness with cancer of the stomach. The deceased was born in St. Anna, February 13th, 1850, where he grew to manhood. He was united in marriage in 1876 to Barbara Enders, the couple making their home on a farm near there. His wife died in 1891, and about a year later he entered a second marriage with Barbara Dreifuerst of St. Cloud. In 1903 Mr. Voelker transferred his farm to his son Henry and moved to the village to live in retirement. Besides his second wife, he leaves six children by his first marriage as follows; Emil of Seymour, Henry of Neenah, Mrs. Ed. Huberty of Mt. Calvary, Mrs. Otto Brill of Calumetville, Mrs. Hattie Bruett of Fond du Lac and Mrs. Dumke of Milwaukee. Also four children by his second marriage, viz; Mrs. Hubert Taff of Fond du Lac, Olive and Edmund at the homestead, Mrs. Walter Stollenwenk of St. Anna. He is also survived by two brothers, Lorenz of St. Cloud and Valentine of St. Anna, and eight sisters, namely; Mrs. Wendel Burg of St. Anna; Mrs. Jos. Schmitz, Mrs. Geo. Schleyer, Mrs. P. Brost and Mrs. Aug Milhaupt of Milwaukee; Mrs. Ph. Becker and Miss Louise Voelker of Burlington. The funeral services will be held at St. Ann's church, Rev. Schmitt, officiating.
