The following information is taken from the White Family Historycreated by Arthur White:

"Joseph was born in Weymouth and went with his parents to Mendon, where he resided until his death. He married Lydia, daughter of Lawrence and Lydia (Townsend) Copeland. He was a prominent resident and one highly esteemed and respected by his fellow townsmen. His wife Lydia died on May 8, 1727. At this time he was 66 and is not believed to have outlived her by too many years."
