About Joseph Wilbore
JOSEPH WILBUR (probably second), son of Samuel Wildbore of Boston, was settled on land of his father in Taunton (now Raynham).
He married Mehitabel Deane, daughter of John Deane of Taunton. Colonial records tell us she died Nov. 9, 1670. We have very little account of him, and no record of his family, except the mention of a daughter Ann, whom he made executrix to his will.
He mentions no other child; and as his brother Samuel in his will makes a bequest to “Ann Wilbor, daughter of Joseph Wilbor,” and alludes to no other child of Joseph, it is probable Ann was his only child.
His will is dated April 1, 1691, and probated the November following (Bristol-County Probate Records), in which he makes several legacies to his “cousins,” as he styles them; but in fact they were his nephews and nieces. We have no account of his death.
