Biography ==Joseph Giroir was born 4 Aug 1720. He was the son of Charles Girouard and Anne Bastarache. He was baptized by Guillaume Blanchard at the time of his birth and he was baptized a second time 10 November 1720 at Port Royal. He married first, Anne Doucet, daughter of Francois Doucet and Marie Poirie 16 July 1743 at Beaubassin. He married second Jeanne Belliveau, daughter of Pierre and Jeanne Gaudet about 1761 in Acadia. They had two known children:

1. Marie Madeleine GIROUARD
2. Rosalie GIROUARD

He passed away about 1803 at Bouctouche. "Joseph Girouard dit Bistet ... naquit à Port-Royal, le 4 août 1720.Il épousa, en premières noces, à Beaubassin, le 16 juillet 1743, Anne Doucet, fille de François Doucet et de Marie Poirier, et en secondes noces, vers 1761, Jeanne Belliveau, fille de Pierre Belliveau et de Jeanne Gaudet. Selon Placide Gaudet, Joseph Girouard est décédé à Bouctouche, en 1803 ou 1804."<ref>White, Stephen A.
