Josephine Sandström

Josephine Sandstrom was my mother. She was the daughter of Joaquin and Esperanza Coto. Both of her parents were born in Oviedo Spain. My mother was born on July 5, 1919. Her father was a minor so the area in Colorado she was born, Hastings, no longer exists. My mother was a loving and caring women. She is very missed. She had a brother (joseph Coto) and sister (Dolores Gugliemo). Joseph and Dolores were twins and were two years older than my mom. They were born in Arizona in 1917. My grandmother Esperanza died at the age of 42 years old of TB. At the time of her death she left an 11 year old (my mother) and 13 years old twins. All three children were raised in foster homes during the Great Depression. My grandmother died on December 27, 1930 at Bellevue hospital in New York. Her brother Joseph married Mary and they had nine children one of their children died at the age of 9. Dolores married Anthony Guglielmo and had two girls. Tony died from Covid a few weeks before his 100th birthday (Feb 2021). My grandfather Joaquin lived to be 96 years old. He died in New York simply of old age.
