2 Divorces Granted in City Court Two divorce suits were tried before Judge I. H. Streeper at the mid-week motion day session of Alton City Court, Thursday (September 19, 1961). Josephine Watts was granted divorce from Otis Watts on grounds of cruelty. Under provisions of the decree, Mrs. Watts was given custody of their four children with question of provision for their support to be determined later. Mrs. Watt also was awarded all rights and interest n the tavern which the litigants :ave conducted at 800 E. Broadway. She also was given possession of household goods and an automobile. Watt was directed to •relinquish his interests in the tavern business and to refrain from interfering with its operation by he plaintiff.

Three Kin Nabbed In Two Incidents Three members of one family were arrested in connection with two separate incidents Wednesday afternoon and early this morning. Mrs. Josephine Watts, 50, of 730 Central Ave., was charged with permitting an unauthorized person to drive a car, following an accident in the 700 block of East Broadway at 3:15 p.m .Wednesday. Her son, John T. Watts, 15, was charged with having no operator's license, police reports showed. Young Watts was driving a car from a parking stall and smacked it into the rear of a parked vehicle, belonging to Mrs. Shirley Lbooiley, 2455 Alby St. At 12:35 this morning, Jerry Watts, 18, another son, was charged, along with two others, with assault and battery and destruction of property. The arrests came after charges were placed against Watts, Thomas Ward, 20, of 932 Fountain St. and Richard Goodwin, 21, of 711 Reuter St. The charge involved a break-in at the Dennis LaCroix home at 3306 College Ave., where LaCroix and his sister, Margaret, 16, were struck. La Croix signed the charges against the three, and Goodwin was arrested at his home and Watts was picked up in the 600 block of East Broadway. Before Ward could be found he came to police attention after a single-car accident at Rock Spring Drive and Brown Street at 1:15 a.m. today.
