He lived 93 years in the midst of warfare and took part in all wars with one exception in which Maine engaged. He was 52 years old in the Revolution. He was commissioned 2nd Lt. in Captain Joshua Wentworth's Co., Col. Ebenezer Francis' Regiment. His name appears in pay abstract dated Watertown, August 1776. He served 1779 in the Penobscot Expedition in Captain William Cobb's company, Col. Jonathan Mitchell's Cumberland Co. Regiment.
