   A book printed 30 yrs ago on misc Yates Notes. It was sent by Gyneth Riley of So Ca-think she is deceased. Guppy's p 575-shows Yates of Buckinghamshire, Cheshire, Darbyshire & Scottish border. Speeled Yate, Yeates, Yates; She sends Geo Yates II who m Rachel Warfield had 4 sons: Geo III, Joshua, Samue, Benjamin, Samuel & Benj settled in Loudon Co Va. Samuel had son Joshua SR in 1741, VA d Ky 1831, m Nancy Boylston b 1745 d 1824. They moved to Ky ca 1785, lived for a time at a fort called Stroud's Station. Joshua Yates, Sr had 11 ch, among them, William b 1766 Benj b 1767, Elija b 1874. He had son Joshua Jr who d 1849 m Nancy Higgins only 1 son, Larkin B. Yates b 1803, was a physician, they had 7 daus, the ygst Maria b 1815, d 1901 m 1831 Sam Darnell. A Mrs. Mary Adelaide Yeates Sould proved his Rev service (Joshua Yates Sr) & her natl no is 125470. she was living in Fairmount, KS at that time. She was 5 generations removed, Joshua, Elijah, Wilson, james. Many old letters say--there landed in Yorkton in 1690 3 bros, George, Samuel, Benjamin. As the parents of these 3 boys were not married till 1700 & their 7 ch were b before 1709 when their their mother died it is quite obvious this is in error.    Samuel sold off his land in Maryland by 1758 and moved to to Loudoun Co., VA, where he died testate as Samuel Yeates. The will was written on 1 Apr 1778 and probated 8 Jun, following. His wife was Johanna (Jeanne) and legacies were left to children: Rachel Money, Joshua Yates, George Yates, Mary Money, Frances Simmons, and Benjamin Yates, also to his grandson, Nicholas Money.    Joshua Yates, born 28 Jan. 1741; died 6 May 1831; married Nancy Boilston. She was born 30 June 1745; died 29 May 1824. They came from Loudon County, Va., and settled at Stroud's Station (Maysville), Kentucky, where they were living in 1786.
