Lemuel A. Carver married Alcy Swift Travis, born 18 May, 1846 NC, died 28 Sept. 1917 in Muhlenberge County, KY (Source: Alcy's death certificate in my file.) Another source; Lemuel's Civil War Records.
Lemuel Anderson Carver evidently married before he went to war. He was in the Kentucky 17 Kentucky Cal. and volunteered on March 1, 1865. Married Sept. 2, 1864.
Another source of Lemuel Anderson and Alcy Swift Travis Carver is from the Carver Family Source Book Volume II, 5th Edition, compiled by Keith R. Carver. He list the children including Frances Elizabeth showing that she married Moses Hatton Evitts. Lemuel's father is listed as William, Benjamin, William.
This books shows that Lem Carver (Lemuel Anderson Carver) was tall with blue eyes and dark hair. He was a farmer and lived in the Rosewood area. He contracted measles and was sent home; after this, he was sent, to Russelville, he relapsed from exposure. He is buried at Rosewood Methodist Church Cemetery, in Muhlenberg County, KY. Information is listed in the Keith R. Carver book as well as the Civil War records.
