When Judge Thomas Raines was born on January 27, 1878, in Pine Hill, Alabama, his father, Warren, was 20 and his mother, Alabama, was 20. He married Sudie Hallie Booker on January 16, 1899, in Conecuh, Alabama. They had eight children in 15 years. He died on July 13, 1963, in Mobile, Alabama, at the age of 85, and was buried there.
