James Kidd, brother of Webb, and son of James and Elizabeth Kidd, went to Mecklenburg County shortly after his father brought the family to Albemarle County in 1760. James married Morning Farish, daughter of Jacob Farish, in Albemarle County on October 17, 1755. James and Morning moved to Mecklenburg County around 1759 and had two sons, James Henry Kidd, around 1762, and William Kidd, in December 1763. Both James Henry and William served in the Revolutionary War. Morning Kidd died after the birth of William, and James Kidd married Winifred Hudson, daughter of Robert Hudson. James and Winifred Hudson had a son named Zacchariah. William, born on December 16, 1763, the son of James and Morning Kidd, married Judith Carter, daughter of Thomas and Mary Carter, on Octoer 8, 1781 in Mecklenburg County.

Six children were born to the union of William and Judith Kidd: Carter, born in 1782; William, born in 1786; Lucy, born in 1788; Elizabeth, born in 1790; Web, born in 1792; and Mary, born in 1794. Webb, son of William and Judith Kidd, was born three years before Webb, Jr. was born to Webb and Elizabeth Kidd. William Kidd and his family, including his father, James and his step-mother, Winifred, moved to Oglethorpe, Georgia, on March 8, 1845. James Kidd, husband of Winifred and father of James Henry and William died in ____, Georgia on _____. James Henry Kidd married Frances Robertson on August 8, 1795 and they moved to Oglethorpe, Georgia also.
