Discussion

  • If Judah really was born in 1592 (citation?), then her marriage to Robert Clement "between 1642 and 1657" would have been very very late for a first marriage. Could she have been married prior? • Her death is supposed to have been prior to the June 1673 death of her husband John Whitney, as she was not mentioned in his will, made in April 1673.
  • Judah was a man's name, taken from the Biblical chapter of Lot. It would be very unusual as a woman's name. Is it possible that her name was actually Judith, and has been subjected to an early transcription error, or simply misspelled in an early record? Indeed, further research reveals that Savage lists her as "Judith".
