"The Juelson (Hoverud) boys enlisted in the Union Army during the War of the States. Jul Juelson returned home to Perry after the war was over. During his absence his wife bought a farm and they lived and farmed in Perry Township for several years . . . Jul or James, as he was later known, left Perry for Waseca, Mn. There they bought a farm and stayed for several years. On May 2, 1878 the Juelson joined a wagon train and left for homestead lands in South Dakota. James Juleson died in November, 1926 at Flandreau, South Dakota." -- quoted from material supplied by Joan Gehrke, Lodi, Wisconsin, 2007.
