She was the daughter of Orrin Bentley and Caroline Yerkes and was united in marriage with Volney Skinner March 10, 1858. They began making their home in the house at Milanville where for sixty four years they have shared the joys and sorrows of life together. Six children were born, three of whom have preceded the mother to the grave and three survive - Nathan of Elmira and Florence and Bessie at home. Mrs. Skinner united with the Baptist church at Damascus sixty-six years ago and has been loyal and true to her church from her youth. The funeral was held from her late home Thursday. Her pastor, Rev. R. D. Minch officiating assisted by Dr. C. D. Skinner and the body was laid to rest in the family cemetery on the bank of the beautiful Delaware river.
