Orrington - Julia Churchill Welch, 55, of Orrington passed away peacefully on November 26th, 2019, surrounded by family. She was born in Bangor November 23, 1964, to John and Sandra Anderson Churchill. Julie graduated from John Bapst High School class of 1983. She also attended the University of Maine. Julie worked sales for American frozen foods, met Stephen Burns who later became her husband. With her success came moves to Florida and Vermont. Returning to Maine they settled in Orrington, raising their two boys. Julie later returned to work for White-hall and Robbins in sales and marketing of over-the-counter medications. At this time she met her future husband John Welch. She then fulfilled a dream of owning and operating two children's resale shops in Bangor and Ellsworth. During this time she also worked at Welch's beverage, her and John married on Valentine's day 2003. Julie was a generous kind loyal and loving person. She enjoyed the outdoors, whether fly fishing for "brookies", canoeing part of the Allagash River, or camping with relatives and friends, especially at Churchill dam. Julie was predeceased by her father, John Churchill; sister Lori Churchill Clark; stepfather Wendell Russell; and step-brother Sean Russell. Julia is survived by husband John Welch; sons, Nicholas and Michael Burns; brothers Daniel Bean and wife, and John Churchill; sister Shelley Joyce and husband; mother Sandra Russell; five grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and two stepdaughters, Megan Welch Cowing and Chelsea Welch. A private ceremony will be held at a later date. Published on May 15, 2020
