Julian Stobbs 'Jules' (1961 - 2020)
Brief overview:
Julian (59), a former Royal Navy sailor, and his partner, Myrtle Clarke, were attacked on their smallholding 'Farm Jazz' in Sunrella, on the morning on Friday 3rd July 2020, when four armed males gained entry to their home. Julian was shot multiple times in the head and chest in the couple's bedroom. The perpetrators gained access to their property, from which they also run a private club, during the early hours of the morning.
The paramedics arrived but there was nothing they could do for Julian, and he was declared dead at the scene.
After killing Julian, the murderers stole two laptops and two cellphones and fled.
On 8th July 2020, people paid their respects to Julian at the Jazz Farm in Lanseria.
The former British serviceman was an air traffic controller for a Lynx helicopter that was on based on board frigate HMS Penelope during the Falklands War.
Julian was a half of the well known Dagga Couple that were instrumental in changing the laws regarding Cannabis and its use in South Africa.
"The couple started the Non-Profit Organisation Fields of Green For All, which sought to give a voice to concerns around drug policy reform, specifically focused on the use of cannabis and related products."
