Julie Mamae Te Rei Lawson. Oldest daughter and child of Niu Tireni Te Rei and Daphne Te Rei. Born in Lower Hutt 28/05/1945.

Older sister of Samuel, and Marlene, Devoted Hoa Rangatira of Lloyd. Mother of Tamarau and Henrietta, Tauranga, Te Wharehuia and Kahu, Tauranga, Tangiora (deceased ), Pani Awhina and John, Tauranga and Tireni and Trini, Wharekahika. The undisputed Queen of sixty plus Mokopuna and Mokopuna Tuarua. A cherished 'Nanny Miss to all of Matakaoa .

Julie was a proud descendant of Tainui and Taranaki and a proud descendant of Porourangi. Julie is lying at her daughters home at Matapihi and tomorrow (Wednesday ) will return to Onepoto, Wharekahika., with an anticipated arrival between 3 & 4pm. The service will be Friday 8th April, 11am with nehu to follow at the whanau urupa, Nukutaharua.
